Our website is hosted by Squarespace.
Squarespace uses necessary cookies and similar technologies to securely serve the website and provide its core functionality.
These technologies may be used for purposes such as website security, network operation, session management and remembering privacy choices.
Because these technologies are necessary for providing the website, they may operate without optional analytics consent.
Squarespace maintains its own current list of cookies used on Squarespace-hosted websites.
My Kit storage
The Chaos Rental equipment-selection system uses browser local storage under the identifier:
chaosRentalKitV2
This stores the equipment added to My Kit and the requested quantities.
Its purpose is to maintain your equipment selection while you navigate between catalogue, product and My Kit pages.
It does not contain your name, email address, telephone number or other quote-form contact information.
This information remains in browser storage until the kit is cleared, the site's browser data is deleted, or it is otherwise removed.
Shopping-basket-style storage is an example that the ICO recognises as potentially strictly necessary to provide a service actively requested by the user. ICO
Quote-form draft storage
When you begin completing a Chaos Rental quote request, the website uses temporary browser session storage under the identifier:
chaosRentalQuoteDraftV1
Its purpose is to prevent the information you have already entered from disappearing if there is a validation error, submission problem or My Kit interface refresh.
Depending on what you have entered, this storage may temporarily contain your hire dates, collection or delivery preference, delivery postcode, name, company, email address, telephone number, production or job name and notes.
This information is stored on your device while you are completing the quote. It is not used for advertising, analytics or profiling.
The stored draft is deleted following a successful quote submission and normally ceases to exist when the relevant browser session ends.
Quote confirmation storage
The website may use temporary session storage for a quote reference associated with your request.
This is used only to support the quote-request and confirmation process and is not used for tracking or advertising.
Squarespace Analytics
Where you consent to analytics cookies, we may use Squarespace Analytics to understand how visitors use Chaos Rental.
Squarespace states that its analytics service may collect information such as browser, network and device information, IP address, referring pages, pages visited, clicks, navigation activity and timestamps. Squarespace Help

These analytics technologies are non-essential to the Chaos Rental quote service and should only operate in accordance with your cookie preferences.
Advertising and cross-site tracking
The custom Chaos Rental catalogue, My Kit and quote-request system does not currently use advertising pixels or cross-site behavioural advertising technologies.
If we introduce advertising, marketing or additional third-party tracking technologies in future, we will update this notice and obtain consent where required.
Supabase and Resend
Supabase supports the catalogue, database, storage, authentication and quote-request infrastructure used by the website.
Resend provides the transactional email service used when quote requests are submitted.
Our custom implementation does not use these services to place advertising or cross-site tracking cookies on customer devices.
Information transmitted to these providers may nevertheless be processed on their servers as described in our Privacy Notice.
Managing your preferences
You can use the cookie controls displayed on the Chaos Rental website to accept, reject or change your preferences for non-essential technologies.
You can also delete cookies, local storage and session storage using your browser settings. Deleting local storage may remove products currently saved in My Kit, and deleting session storage may remove an unfinished quote-form draft.
Where a technology requires consent, refusing that consent will not prevent you from using the core Chaos Rental website and quote-request service.
The ICO requires prior consent for non-exempt storage/access technologies and says refusing them should be as easy as accepting them. ICO
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice if our website functionality, technology providers or use of cookies and browser storage changes.
